What is blockchain and why is it disruptive? It’s a clear upgrade from the internet we know today. We have smart items that are sensing, responding, sharing data and the internet of everything needs a ledger of everything. When two parties make a trade transaction, for example, both sides can be sure of what took place and the record will be stored in perpetuity. Blockchain is now mainstream and we need to uncover the mystery and eliminate misinformation.

Amanda Wilkie is a Consultant at Boomer Consulting, Inc. and she’s not your average geek. With two decades of technology experience, Amanda has spent 15 years driving change and process improvement through innovative technology solutions in accounting firms of all sizes. She has held strategic leadership positions in firms ranging from Top 50 to Top 10, including her most recent role as CIO of a Top 30 firm.
Amanda is recognized as a technology expert in the accounting profession and regularly speaks and writes on blockchain, cryptocurrency and their impact on the profession. She is both a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA).
